Selected Letter Writer Instructions

Use the Selected Letter Writer instructions to print a personalized letter for up to 30 patients that you specify.  Please note if you want to print a single letter to an individual patient you can use the Patient Letter Writer routine.

Tips:

• The patient letters are predefined and must be set up using the Add/Change/Delete Letter Formats routine in CURL.

• Do not confuse Batch Letter Writer and Letter Writer with Patient Letters.  The Patient Letters routines are separate routines and have separate functions that use XML to create the letters.

• This routine is also known as the Letter Writer.

• Opening the Selected Letter Writer, click More.

   

  1.  Click Reports from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click Letter Writer.

  3.  Click Selected Letter Writer.

• Choosing the Selections at the Prompt Window, click More.

   

  Selected Letter Writer Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Letter #	Enter the number of the letter to print for the selected patients.  (3.0 numeric) Note:  The letters are created using the Add/Change/Delete Letter Formats routine in CURL.  For more information, contact NDS Support.
  Next Contact Date	Enter the next contact date, if applicable.   Note:  This field is only active if the letter requires a next contact date.
  Accounts	Enter the accounts for which a letter is to be printed and then, press [Enter] or click Add Account .  The account number is added to the list.  Continue adding accounts until all desired accounts are added. Other Actions: To remove an account, click to highlight the account and then click Remove Account . To refresh the list of accounts, click Refresh .
  	Displays the default printer number.  To change, enter another printer number.  For more information, see Printing Options.
  	If there is a forced entry for a field in the letter, click Check for Forced Entry. Note:  This prompt is only active if there is a forced field in the letter.
  Forced Entry Steps After clicking Check for Forced Entry, the following window displays:
  Forced Entry Field	Enter the value for the forced entry for this letter.  In this example the field is day.
  	To continue with the patient letters, click Continue. Note:  If there is another Forced field, after clicking Continue the next field will display and you will be prompted to enter the field value.
  	Or, to stop the letter printing, click Cancel.
  Printing
  	To generate the letters, click Print, or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + p]
  	To escape from the letter print, click Cancel. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + c]
