The Patient Account Number is the key field that identifies a patient's master information including their demographic, guarantor, insurance and balances information. INSight uses the Patient Account Number in many places to recall patient information.
Notes:
Each patient must be assigned a unique Patient Account Number even if billed as part of a family.
A person who is a guarantor for a patient, must first be entered as a patient and assigned a Patient Account Number, even if they are not really a patient.
