Transaction Entry

Use Transaction Entry to enter the following types of transactions - Adjustments, Orders, Receipts, Sales, Commitments and Transfers. Each type of transaction has a special function within the Inventory module and will affect inventory items according to their function.

Opening Transaction Entry, click More.

1. Click Transactions Menu from the Menu Bar.

2. Click Transaction Entry.

Tip: Or, use the keyboard shortcut: [ALT] [t].

Transaction Entry Window Example:
Creating a Transaction, click More.
1. Enter the transaction header information.
- Transaction Date
- Batch Number, Description and Reference
- Select the Transaction Type
- Work Order
2. Enter the Transaction details.
- Enter the Item ID and select the Location.
- Enter the Quantity, Unit of Measure and Item Standard Cost for the transaction.
3. Click Save to complete the transaction.
Editing a Transaction, click More.

CAUTION: To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

1. To display the record to be changed, double-click the desired transaction line that is displayed in the Transaction Detail Lines Inquiry area. The Transaction line details display in the Transaction Entry - Detail Area for your review.

2. To change a field, click the field using the mouse.

3. Enter the data changes.

4. To complete the edit process, click Save .
Deleting a Transaction, click More.

1. Double-click the appropriate line displayed in the Inquiry area. The details of the transaction lines display in the Transaction Entry - Detail Area for your review.

2. Click Delete .

3. At the Delete Records prompt, click Yes to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.

4. After clicking Yes, the record is deleted, the fields in the Transaction Entry Detail area clear and the cursor is positioned at Transaction Type for entry of another transaction.

Transaction Entry - Header Section	Contains the fields for entering summary information for transactions.
Transaction Entry - Detail Section	Contains the fields for entering the transaction line details.
Transaction Entry - Transaction Detail Lines Inquiry	Contains a view of the transaction detail lines and the buttons to perform functions within Transaction Entry.
