Transaction Journal Instructions

Use the Transaction Journal Report to generate a listing of all the inventory transactions in the Transaction file.  This includes all the transactions that were entered during the Transaction Entry routine.  Generally, you will print the Transaction Journal after all transactions have been entered and before the Transaction Post is run.  Use the Transaction Journal to proof your entries and to provide a complete audit trail of your work.

• Opening the Transaction Journal, click More.

   

  1.  Click Transactions Menu from the Menu Bar.

  Transaction Journal Instructions Prompts Tips:   To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name. Report Parameters can saved and then loaded after being saved.  For information, see Reporting Toolbar.
  Transaction Type	To specify a range of Transaction Types to report, click to select the lower/beginning Transaction Type.  To specify the ending range, click to select the upper range Type. Note:  To include all types on the journal, leave the lower and upper range blank for All.   Or, to report only one specific type, click to select the Type as the lower range.
  Item	To specify a range of Items to report, enter the lower range/beginning Item.  To specify the ending range, enter the upper range Item. Notes:   To include all items on the journal, leave the lower and upper range blank for All.   Or, to report only a specific item, enter the Item as the lower range. To search for an Item, click in the lower or upper range and then press [Ctrl + f].
  Job	To specify a range of Jobs to report, enter the lower range/beginning Job.  To specify the ending range, enter the upper range Job. Note:  To include all jobs on the journal, leave the lower and upper range blank for All.   Or, to report only a specific job, enter the job as the lower range.
  Batch	To specify a range of Batches to report, enter the lower range/beginning Batch.  To specify the ending range, enter the Batch for the upper range. Note:  To include all Batch on the journal, leave the lower and upper range blank for All.   Or, to report only a specific Batch, enter the Batch as the lower range.
  Location	To specify a range of Locations to report, click to select the lower/beginning Location.  To specify the ending range, click to select the upper range Location. Note:  To include all locations on the journal, leave the lower and upper range blank for All. Or, to report only a specific location, click to select the specific location as the lower range.
  Destination	To specify a range of Destinations to report, click to select the lower/beginning Destination.  To specify the ending range, click to select the upper range Destination. Notes:   To include all Destinations on the journal, leave the lower and upper range blank for All. Or, to report only a specific Destination, click to select the Destination as the lower range. Destination is only available for Transfer Transaction Types.
  Transaction Date	To specify a range of Transaction Dates to report, enter the lower/beginning Transaction Date.  To specify the ending range, enter the upper range Transaction Date. (yyyy-mm-dd) Note:  To include all dates on the journal, leave the lower and upper range blank for All.   Or, to report only a specific Transaction Date, enter the date as the lower range.
  Sort Parameters
  Sort	To specify the Sort parameters, click Sort .
  Order	To specify the fields to sort the journal by, enter any positive number into the Order field.  A value of 1 means sort by this field first, 2 means sort by this field second and so on.  The numbers do not need to be sequential but they must be greater than zero.  In the example above, transactions are sorted first by Date, then by Transaction Type with each Batch Number. Notes: Two sorts with the same number will get sorted before others with larger numbers and after those with smaller numbers, but the actual order for those two sorts is indeterminate. To remove a sort order for a field, delete the value in the Order field.
  Ascending	To sort in an ascending manner, click to select the Ascending checkbox.  Or, leave the Ascending checkbox blank to sort in descending order.
  Active	The Active flag must to set to enable the field to be sorted.  To set the Active flag, click to check the corresponding checkbox. Note:  If Active is unchecked, the field will not be used for sorting even if there is a Order value entered for the field.
  	To begin printing to the Windows® default printer, click Print, or press [ENTER].
  	To run the routine and print to the Print View window, click here.
  	To escape from the print routine, click Cancel.
