Customer Finance Master Maintenance - Liens Panel

Use the Liens Panel to view a summary of the current outstanding liens for a customer.  The table following the window example describes the Liens Panel for Customer Finance Master Maintenance.

Tip:  For additional information about working with data in fields, see Data Entry Guidelines.

Directions:

To display the Liens Panel:

  1. The Customer Inquiry window automatically opens when Utility Billing is launched.  
    Tip:  
    To display the Customer Inquiry after starting other windows, click Customer Inquiry on the Edifice Toolbar.

  2. At the Inquire By prompt, click Customer in the drop-down list.

  3. Press [TAB] to move to the Customer prompt, and then enter a valid Customer ID.

    To inquire by location, service connection or street name, see Customer Inquiry - Inquire By Selection Area.

  4. Click Financials on the Customer Inquiry Additional Functions Toolbar.

  5. To bring the Liens Panel forward, click Forward .

Liens Panel Field Descriptions

Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.

Account Number

Displays the Customer ID for the current customer.

Tip:  To view another customer, enter the Customer ID. (up to 12 characters)

To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER].

Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]

CAUTION

To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

To view all of the existing customers, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete.

Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]

To display an existing customer, enter the Customer ID and click Retrieve, or press [ENTER].

Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]

Lien Transaction Detail Lines

MMYY

Displays the combined Month and Year that the lien was created.

Company

Displays the Company ID associated with the customer's lien.

Amount

Displays the Lien Amount for the transaction, which excludes both the Lien Cost Amount and the Lien Interest Amount.

Cost

Displays the cost associated with preparing and generating the lien for the customer.

Interest

Displays the Interest charged for the customer lien.

Lien Date

Displays the date the lien was posted to the customer

Lien Total

Displays the Lien Total, which is an accumulation of the Lien Amount, Lien Cost Amount, and Lien Interest Amount, if applicable.

Additional Lien Details

Tip:  To see additional detail for a lien, click to highlight the appropriate Lien Detail line.  The additional Lien Detail fields are described below.

Lien Amount

Displays the Lien Amount for the transaction, which excludes both the Lien Cost Amount and Lien Interest Amount.

Lien Cost

Displays the Cost associated with preparing and generating the lien for the customer.

Lien Interest

Displays the Interest charged for the customer lien.

Pre Lien Amount

Displays the customer's Previous Lien Amount.

Pre Lien Cost

Displays the customer's Previous Lien Cost Amount.

Pre Lien Interest

Displays the customer's Previous Lien Interest Amount, if applicable.
