Finance Charge Transaction Journal Instructions

Use the Finance Charge Transaction Journal Instructions to print the finance charge transactions that are in the Finance Charge Transaction file.  This includes all the transactions for customers who were assessed finance charges and penalties during the Finance Charge Calculate Routine and those maintained during Finance Charge Transaction Entry.  Use this journal to review the calculated finance charge amounts and to proof your entries.  You can select to print the journal with finance charge totals by customer rate class, service or customer, if desired.

To open:

1.  Click Processes from the menu.

2.  Click Finance Charge.

3.  Click Transaction Journal.

Services

To select the services to print, click to check the appropriate services listed.

Tip:  To quickly select or de-select all services listed, click the Check All icon.

Companies

To select the companies to print, click to check the appropriate companies listed.

Tip:  To quickly select or de-select all companies listed, click the Check All icon.

Finance Periods

To select the finance periods to print, click to check the appropriate Finance Period IDs listed.

Tip:  To quickly select or de-select all finance periods listed, click the Check All icon.

Sort Type

To choose a sort option, click to select the appropriate button.

Sort Options:

  • Finance Period - Prints finance charge transactions in Finance Period order.

  • Period & Account - Prints finance charges transactions in Customer ID order within Finance Period order.

  • Account - Prints finance charge transactions in Customer ID order.

  • Last Name - Prints finance charge transactions alphabetically by Customer Last Name and then by service within Last Name.

  • None - Prints the report in specified user-defined field order allowing you to sort or pull data into the journal to suit your purpose.  For example, if you want to print the report in book/sequence number, define a user definable field as Book/Sequence, maintain info in the field, then choose that option.

Print Customer Class Totals?

To print finance charge totals for each customer Rate Class, click to select this box.

To omit printing finance charge totals for each customer rate class, leave this box unchecked.

Sub-Total by Customer?

To print finance charge totals for each customer, if applicable, click to select this box.

To omit printing finance charge totals for each customer, leave this box unchecked.

Sub-Total by Service?

To print the finance charge subtotals for each service, select this box.

To omit printing finance charge subtotals for each service, leave this box unchecked.

Totals Only

To print finance charge totals only, select this box.

To print finance charge transaction details, leave this box unchecked.

Include

To specify whether to include customers who receive paperless statements, paper statements or both types of customers, click a choice in the drop-down list.

Options:

  • Paperless and Non-paperless

  • Paperless Only

  • Non-paperless Only

To begin printing, click Print, or press [ENTER].

Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + p]

To print to the screen, click Print View.

To escape from the print routine, click Cancel , or press [ENTER].
