Service Call Header Maintenance

Use Service Call Header Maintenance to maintain four optional report field headers or user-defined field labels for your service call information.  The Headers or user-defined fields are used during Service Call Entry and print on the service call work orders.  For example, header text might include PO#, CUSTOMER#, and JOB#.

• Opening Service Call Header Maintenance, click More.

   

  1.  Click Service Mgt from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click File Maintenance.

  3.  Click Header.
  
  Tip:  Or, use the keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [m] [f] [h].

• Creating a New Service Call Header Record, click More.

   

  Note:  You can not create any new Service Call Headers.  The necessary Header record is created during the software installation and updates.  To maintain the record, see the instructions for editing later in this topic.

   

• Editing an Existing Service Call Header Record, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save the changed record.

  1.  To display the record to be changed, simply open Service Call Header Maintenance.  The record automatically displays.

  2.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3.  Enter the data changes.

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].

  Service Call Header Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Service Call Headers	The program sets the Service Call Headers to SMHEADERS. Tip:  This maintenance is for a single record.
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	Search is not active for this program.
  	Retrieve is not required in this program.
  Header # 1 - 4	Enter the field label for each optional line of desired header information. (up to 15 characters, per line) Tip:  While there are four lines available, use only as many lines as you need.

   

• Deleting an Existing Service Call Header Record, click More.

   

  Note:  To maintain data integrity, you can not delete the Service Call Header record.
