Utilities Menu

Programs on the Utilities menu are used on an infrequent basis or for a single time basis or not at all. These are special programs used for setting up the module environment and for special routines.

Directions:

To open the Utilities menu, click Utilities from the Menu.
Keyboard shortcut: [ALT] [t]

Note: You may be able to access the General Ledger menu while in another INVISION application. To activate the General Ledger menu in another application, the G/L Application Control must be set up for the application during installation.
The table below describes the available options.

Utilities Menu Items
Excel Journal Import	Imports journal entries from Microsoft Excel files into the General Ledger module. Keyboard shortcut: [ALT] [t] [i]
Exports	Opens a menu containing Export functions for exporting GL journal entries for use with third-party software. Keyboard shortcut: [ALT] [t] [e]
Copy General Ledger Accounts	Copies one or more Account Numbers. Keyboard shortcut: [ALT] [t] [g] Tip: This option is not available when you open the Utilities menu from another module.
User Parameters	Sets up certain General Ledger parameters for users.
Tasks	Provides a list of background processes that are currently running.
Reverse Journal Entries	Moves General Ledger journal entries from one journal period to another period. Note: There are 2 routines for reversing entries - Create Reversing Entries and Reverse Journal Entries. Create Reversing Entries you must manually create the reversing entries in the original period using the journal code, RE (Reversing Entry) and with Reverse Journal Entries you select the entries to reverse, and they are automatically removed from the period and then created in the new period that you select. To add Reverse Journal Entries to your menu, please contact NDS Support for assistance at support@ndsys.com.
Create Reversing Entries	Generates reversal journal entries for unposted adjustments made in the previous period. Keyboard shortcut: [ALT] [a] [v] Note: There are 2 routines for reversing entries - Create Reversing Entries and Reverse Journal Entries. Create Reversing Entries you must manually create the reversing entries in the original period using the journal code, RE (Reversing Entry) and with Reverse Journal Entries you select the entries to reverse, and they are automatically removed from the period and then created in the new period that you select.
