Billing Detail Analysis Report Instructions

Use the Billing Detail Analysis Report to print a historical detailed analysis of billing charges and customer usage.  The report can provide an analysis by rate class, by transaction code, by billing rates, by consumption and by billing analysis.  In addition, there are report options to provide an XML interface and rate modeling information.  The report information comes from the ubdet table which contains all the details of each customer billing and posting transaction.

To open:

1.  Click Analysis from the menu.

2.  Click Reports.

3.  Click Billing Detail Report.

Or, use the keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [s] [r] [b].

Services

To select the Services to report, click to check the appropriate Services listed.

Tip:  To quickly select or de-select all Services listed, click Check All .

Companies

To select the Companies to report, click to check the appropriate Companies listed.

Tip:  To quickly select or de-select all Companies listed, click Check All .

Reason Codes

To select the Reason Codes to report, click to check the appropriate Reason Codes listed.

Tip:  To quickly select or de-select all Reason Codes listed, click Check All .

Rate Classes

To select the Rate Classes to report, click to check the appropriate Rate Classes listed.

Tip:  To quickly select or de-select all Rate Classes listed, click Check All .

Finance Periods

To select the Finance Periods to report, click to check the appropriate Finance Periods listed.

Tip:  To quickly select or de-select all Finance Periods listed, click Check All .

Transaction Codes

To select the Transaction Codes to report, click to check the appropriate Transaction Codes listed.

Tip:  To quickly select or de-select all Transaction Codes listed, click Check All .

Category

To select the Category Codes to report, click to check the appropriate Category Codes listed.

Tip:  To quickly select or de-select all Category Codes listed, click Check All .

Status

To select the Statuses to report, click to check the appropriate Status Codes listed.

Tip:  To quickly select or de-select all Statuses listed, click Check All .

Type

To choose an Analysis Type, click to select the appropriate button.

Analysis Types:

  • Class Analysis - Reports usage and charge totals by Rate Class.

  • Transaction Analysis - Reports usage and charge totals by Transaction Code.

  • Rate Analysis - Reports usage and charge totals by steps within Rate Table.

  • Consumption Analysis - Reports customer consumption and charge detail and a customer total.

  • Billing Analysis  - Reports customer usage and charge details for a specified period.

Sort

To specify the method for sorting the report information, click the appropriate button.

Sort Choices:

Use Transaction Analysis

To run the report using the Transaction Code Analysis and Service Settings, select this box.

To run the report using the system level setting, de-select this box.

Accumulate By Date

To accumulate usage by date, select this box.

To omit accumulating usage by date, de-select this box.

Note:  This field is only active when you select Consumption Analysis or Billing Analysis as the Type.

Include Step Data

To include Rate Step Data in the analysis, select this box.

To omit Rate Step Data in the analysis, de-select this box.

Note:  This field is only active when you select Rate Analysis as the Type.

Model Analysis

To include a Rate Model analysis, select this box.

To omit a Rate Model analysis, de-select this box.

Note:  This field is only active when you select Rate Analysis as the Type.

XML Data Interface

To include the XML data interface, select this box.

To omit the XML interface, de-select this box.

Note:  This field is only active when you select Consumption Analysis or Billing Analysis as the Type.

Include Adjustment Date

To include the adjustment date in the analysis, select this box.

To omit the adjustment date in the analysis, de-select this box.

Note:  This field is only active when you select Billing Analysis as the Type.

Include Final Data

To include Final Data in the analysis, select this box.

To omit Final Data in the analysis, de-select this box.

Note:  This field is only active when you select Billing Analysis as the Type.

Post Date Range From

To limit the report to a range of Posting Dates, enter the appropriate beginning Posting Date in the range. (mmddccyy, slashes not necessary)

Tip:  To include all Posting Dates, leave blank.

Through

To limit the report to a range of Posting Dates, enter the appropriate ending Posting Date in the range. (mmddccyy, slashes not necessary)

Tip:  To include all Posting Dates, leave blank.

Reading Date Range From

To limit the report to a range of Reading Dates, enter the appropriate beginning Reading Date in the range. (mmddccyy, slashes not necessary)

Tips:  To include all Reading Dates, leave blank.

Through

To limit the report to a range of Reading Dates, enter the appropriate ending Reading Dates in the range. (mmddccyy, slashes not necessary)

Tips:  To include all Reading Dates, leave blank.

Customer ID(s)

Entry Options:

  • To print an individual account, enter the Customer ID. (up to 12 characters)

  • To build a list of customers to print:

  • Enter the Customer ID followed by a comma (,).

  • Continue to enter the desired customers.

  • To complete the customer list, press [TAB].

  • To search for the appropriate customer ID, click Search .

  • To build a range of customers, enter the beginning Customer ID, followed by a hyphen (-) and then the ending Customer ID.

  • To print all customers on the report, please leave blank.

Location ID(s)

Entry Options:

  • To print an individual location, enter the Location ID. (up to 12 characters)

  • To build a list of locations to print:

  • Enter the Location ID followed by a comma (,).

  • Continue to enter the desired locations.

  • To complete the customer list, press [TAB].

  • To search for the appropriate Location ID, click Search .

  • To build a range of locations, enter the beginning Location ID, followed by a hyphen (-) and then the ending Location ID.

  • To print all locations on the report, please leave blank.

To begin printing to the Windows® default printer, click Print, or press [ENTER].  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + p]

Or, to print to the Print View window, click Print View .

Or, to escape from the print routine, click Cancel .
