Customer Inquiry - Customer Messages Panel

Use the Customer Messages Panel to view a history log of the customer's messages.  You enter customer messages with the Customer Add Message Wizard.  The table following the window example describes the Customer Messages Panel for the Customer Inquiry.

Tips:

• Do not confuse Customer messages with Customer credit messages.  They are two separate programs and have separate functions.

• The customer messages are informational only and do not print on customer statements.

• You can delete customer messages during this inquiry.

• Opening the Customer Messages Panel, click More.

   

  1. The Customer Inquiry window automatically opens when Utility Billing is launched.  
     Tip:  To display the Customer Inquiry after starting other windows, click Customer Inquiry on the Edifice Toolbar.

  2. At the Inquire By prompt, click Customer in the drop-down list.

  3. Press [TAB] to move to the Customer prompt, and then enter a valid Customer ID.
     
     Tip:  
     To inquire by location, service connection or street name, see the Customer Inquiry - Inquire By Selection Area.

  4. Click Move Right on the Customer Panel Toolbar to display additional buttons.

  5. Click Messages on the Customer Panel Toolbar.

• Understanding the fields in the panel, click More.

   

  Customer Inquiry - Customer Messages Panel Field Descriptions Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Date	Displays the date the message was assigned to the customer.
  Message Code	Displays the Message Code ID assigned to the customer.
  Message Code Message	Displays an additional message pertaining to the customer message, if applicable.

   

   

• Viewing additional history details for a customer message, click More.

   

  To view additional history details for a customer message, click to highlight the desired line and the Customer Message History Detail Window displays.

  Customer Inquiry - Customer Message History Detail Window Field Descriptions Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Date	Displays the date the message was assigned to the customer.
  Time	Displays the time at which the message was assigned to the customer.
  User ID	Displays the User ID of the person who entered the message for the customer.
  Message Code ID	Displays the Message Code ID assigned to the customer.
  Message Lines	Displays the Message Lines associated with the Message Code assigned to the customer.
  Message	Displays the optional additional message pertaining to the customer message.
  	To close the window, click Close.

• Deleting an existing customer message, click More.

   

  1. Click to highlight the desired message line and the Customer Message History Detail Window displays.

  2. Right-click to display the shortcut menu.

  3. Click Delete Message.

  4. At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
