Conditions Code Maintenance

Use Conditions Code Maintenance to maintain conditions to query the database.  You can maintain query commands or macro commands that analyze and report the data that meets the specifications of the query or macro.  For example, you can create a condition of LASTNAME = SMITH and apply it to customer billing statements to only print statements for customers with the last name of SMITH.  You can assign conditions to statements, export routines, and customer shutoff routines to name a few.

• Opening Conditions Code Maintenance, click More.

  1.  Click Daily Work from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click File Maintenance.

  3.  Click Code Maintenance.

  4.  Click Miscellaneous Maintenance.

  5.  Click Conditions.
  
  Tip:  Or, use the keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [y] [m] [c] [i] [o].

• Creating a New Conditions Code, click More.

   

  To create a new record choose one of these methods:

  • Enter the new Condition ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]

  • Or, enter the new Condition ID and click File from the Menu Bar; next click New.
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [n]

  Tip:  To indicate that you are building a new Condition, New  displays near the Condition ID.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.

   

  Conditions Code Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Condition ID	Enter the unique identifier for the condition. (up to 10 characters) Required
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	To view all of the existing conditions, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  	To display an existing condition, enter the Condition ID and click Retrieve, or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Title	Enter the title of the condition. (up to 20 characters)
  Description	Enter the full description associated with the condition. (up to 40 characters)
  Start Date	Enter the Start Date for the condition. (mmddccyy, Slashes and century optional)
  End Date	Enter the End Date for the condition. (mmddccyy, Slashes and century optional)
  Condition	Enter the query command or macro for the condition. (up to 80 characters)

   

• Editing an Existing Conditions Code, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To display the record to be changed, enter the Condition ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  
  Tip:  If you do not know the Condition ID, you can click Search  to see a list of conditions.

  2.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3.  Enter the data changes.

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].

• Deleting an Existing Conditions Code, click More.

   

  1.  To display the record to be deleted, enter the Condition ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Tip:  If you do not know the Condition ID, you can click Search  to see a list of conditions.

  2.  Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3.  At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
