Meter Testing Menu

The Meter Testing menu contains commands used to monitor the testing of meters that are installed at service connections.  Many types of meters also have test ports so that they can be tested and examined on a regular basis to evaluate whether they are functioning properly to help ensure that the service is delivered safely and recorded correctly.  For example, local ordinances may require that electric meters be tested on a regular basis.  After a meter has passed the test, it is stamped to show that the meter has been approved for use.  Generally, new meters are tested on a sample basis.  Meters that are currently in service are tested individually.  In addition, customers can request that their meter be tested if they dispute the amount of the service delivered.

Tip:  For information on the timing and sequence of meter testing, see Meter Testing Procedure.
