Field Description - Federal Tax Withholding Amount
The Federal Tax Withholding Amount is the dollar amount withheld from the employee's paycheck for federal taxes. Check Entry automatically calculates the amount in the Standard Deductions Area, or you can enter it manually.
The calculation is based on one of the following tax tables:
FEDM: Federal and FICA tax for married employees with Regular FICA.
FEDM2: Federal and FICA tax for married employees with Medicare-Only FICA.
FEDS: Federal and FICA tax for single employees with Regular FICA.
FEDS2: Federal and FICA tax for single employees with Medicare-Only FICA.
The following fields affect the result of the calculation:
Marital Status Code: Determines which table to use.
FICA Code: Determines which table to use.
Deduction Exemptions: For federal tax.
Other Pay Exemptions: For federal tax.
Retirement Withholding Amount: Exempt from federal tax.
Pay Periods Per Year: Number of pay periods per year for each Run Code.
Matched Annuity: Amounts increase the Gross Pay for the calculation.
