Meter Import Dates Maintenance

Use Meter Import Dates Maintenance to maintain the service dates, the discount date and pro-rate date for the billing transactions imported during the Import Readings/Create Transactions routine of Meter Communications.  These dates are used to generate imported billing transactions including pro-rated transactions, discount transactions, and deposit interest transactions.  The Meter Import Dates can print on customer statements, if specified.

Notes:

• Do not confuse the dates maintained during Meter Import Dates Maintenance with the dates maintained during Billing Run Code Maintenance.  While the Meter Import dates look similar to the Billing Run Code dates, they are separate fields and are used in separate programs.

• Opening Meter Import Dates Maintenance, click More.

   

  1.  Click Daily Work from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click File Maintenance.

  3.  Click Code Maintenance.

  4.  Click Meter File Maintenance.

  5.  Click Meter Import Dates Maintenance.

• Creating a new Meter Import Dates group, click More.

   

  Meter Import Dates Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Meter Dates ID	Enter the unique date ID to identify this group of dates and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER]. (1-10 characters) Tip:  If you are building a new Meter Import Dates, New  displays near the Meter Dates ID.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	To view all of the existing Meter Import Dates, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  Service From Date	Enter the date of the last reading as the Meter Import Service From Date. (mmddccyy) Note:  The Meter Import Service From Date is used if the Prior Reading Date value has not be maintained for the customer's meter.
  Service To Date	Enter the date of the present reading as the Meter Import Service To Date. (mmddccyy) Note:  Enter a date that is up to and including the Service To Date.
  Discount Date	Enter the date the discount period ends, if applicable.  A discount may be taken if the eligible customer pays the bill prior to the Meter Import Discount Date. (mmddccyy) Notes:   Leave blank, if you do not offer customer discounts. Enter a date that is up to, but not including the date the discount is no longer offered.
  Pro-rate Date	Enter the date the meter import pro-rated billing rates begin. (mmddccyy) Note:  Leave blank, if you do not pro-rate customer bills when your billing rates change in the middle of a meter import cycle.

   

• Editing an existing Meter Import Dates group, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1. To display the record to be changed, enter the Meter Dates ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
     
     Tip:  If you do not know the Meter Dates ID, you can click Search  to see a list of Meter Dates IDs.

  2. To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3. Enter the data changes.

  4. To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].

• Deleting an existing Meter Import Dates group, click More.

   

  1. To display the record to be deleted, enter the Meter Dates ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
     Tip:  If you do not know the Meter Dates ID, you can click Search  to see a list of Meter Dates IDs.

  2. Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3. At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
