Past Due Procedure
This topic describes the steps in the Past Due process. The past due process has two parts. The first part includes the routines for generating the past due notices for customers with overdue balances. The second part is optional and includes assessing late charges for the appropriate customers.
1. Create the Past Due Workfile.
2. Print the Past Due Notice Journal to proof and approve the customers and their past due information.
3. Use the Past Due Workfile Maintenance to delete the customers who should not receive a past due notice from the Past Due Workfile, if necessary.
4. Print the Past Due Balance Report, if applicable.
5. Print the Past Due Notices and/or print the Certified Mailers for mailing to the appropriate customers.
Tip: You can choose to print the past due notices or print the certified mailers or you can print both.
Notes:
The following programs assess late charges to customer overdue accounts. You only need to perform these routines if you want to apply late charges to customer accounts.
If you are assessing late charges to customers, you can include the late charge information on the customers' past due notice. For more information, contact NDS Technical Support.
