Tax Master Maintenance - Overview
Use Tax Master Maintenance to view and maintain information about a Tax Account, which includes information about a taxable property and the owner(s). Tax Master Maintenance also provides a feature for viewing and maintaining tax detail transactions.
Warnings:
Although you can update and create detail transactions through Tax Master Maintenance, you must use caution, because this program does not create the normal postings to the General Ledger.
When you update a Tax Account in the Tax Billing module, it does not automatically update the property information in other modules.
Tips:
For more information about working with data in fields, see the Data Entry Guidelines.
Most data in a Tax Account is automatically created by other modules. For example, many tax detail transactions are generated by the Cash Receipts module, and new Tax Accounts are automatically created from the property master data in the Assessing module when you post tax bills.
To see the source of the original data for a specific field, click the hyperlink for the field name and you will see the Field Description information in a pop-up window.
If the Tax Account data changes - for example the Owner Name was misspelled - you must make the correction in each module separately.
The Year End Roll purges Tax Accounts that are paid in full.
