Payroll Import Hours

The Payroll Import Hours module offers a way to import employee payroll hours to Payroll and generate paychecks for the employees.  This can be useful if your organization uses a third-party system to track employee hours.  The Import Hours module is flexible and can handle a variety of import formats.  During the import process employee paychecks will be created using the import hours along with the employees' settings for deductions and taxes.  If there is information in the import file that is missing from Payroll, errors will be reported.  Errors must be resolved before the information can update Payroll.  In addition, warnings will be reported for employees who have exceeded the overtime hours thresholds established during Overtime Hours Maintenance.  After the Import finishes, employees with warnings should be reviewed and can be edited, if needed using Payroll Check Entry.

Set up

Do the following setup to use the Payroll Import Hours module.

1.  Use Overtime hours Maintenance - to set overtime hours for each run code.  The OT hours are used as a threshold during the Payroll Import Hours routine to determine when an employee has exceeded their regular hours and may be due for overtime hours.

2.  Set Pay Code Conversion - use this maintenance to translate or map the pay types in the import hours file to the defined NDS pay types.

3.  Set Import Options - use this maintenance to set information and controls used by the Payroll Import Hours routine.
