Usage Table Maintenance

Use Usage Table maintenance to maintain the standard usage amounts on a monthly basis for a service connection that doesn't have a meter reading.  Usage tables are used during the Import Readings/Create Transactions routine of meter communications and during Bill Entry to calculate customer charges.  For example, street lights can be a type of service connections that requires a usage table for billing customer charges.

Notes:  

• Usage tables are assigned to Billing Types and Billing Types can be assigned to any type of service connection including meters, trailers, and components.

• Opening Usage Table Maintenance, click More.

   

  1. Click Daily Work from the Menu Bar.

  2. Click File Maintenance.

  3. Click Table Maintenance.

  4. Click Usage Table.

  Tip:  Or, use the keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [y] [m] [t] [u].

• Creating a new Usage Table, click More.

   

  Tip:  To indicate that you are building a new Usage Table, New  displays near the table name.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.

  Usage Table Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Usage Table ID	Enter the unique identification to be assigned to the usage table. (up to 10 characters) Required
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	To view all of the existing usage tables, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  	To display an existing usage table, enter the Usage Table ID and click Retrieve, or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Description	Enter the description of the usage table. (up to 30 characters)
  Usage
  January	Enter the standard amount of usage for the time period. (10.0 numeric)
  February	Enter the standard amount of usage for the time period. (10.0 numeric)
  March	Enter the standard amount of usage for the time period. (10.0 numeric)
  April	Enter the standard amount of usage for the time period. (10.0 numeric)
  May	Enter the standard amount of usage for the time period. (10.0 numeric)
  June	Enter the standard amount of usage for the time period. (10.0 numeric)
  July	Enter the standard amount of usage for the time period. (10.0 numeric)
  August	Enter the standard amount of usage for the time period. (10.0 numeric)
  September	Enter the standard amount of usage for the time period. (10.0 numeric)
  October	Enter the standard amount of usage for the time period. (10.0 numeric)
  November	Enter the standard amount of usage for the time period. (10.0 numeric)
  December	Enter the standard amount of usage for the time period. (10.0 numeric)

   

• Editing an existing Usage Table, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1. To display the record to be changed, enter the Usage Table ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
     
     Tip:  If you do not know the Usage Table ID, you can click Search  to see a list of usage tables.

  2. To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3. Enter the data changes.

  4. To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]

   

• Deleting an existing Usage Table, click More.

   

  1. To display the record to be deleted, enter the Usage Table ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
     Tip:  If you do not know the Usage Table ID, you can click Search  to see a list of usage tables.

  2. Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3. At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
