Remove Service Connection Wizard

Use the Remove Service Connection Wizard to remove a service connection from a location and a customer and the system.  Use this wizard to remove a service connection if the connection needs to be repaired or replaced.  You can also remove a connection if the service has been shut off (remove a water meter if the water has been shut off).  You can remove the service connection without actually removing it physically.

Notes:

• You cannot remove a service connection if there are unposted transactions for the connection.  This includes billing and payment transactions that have not been posted to the customer account.

• Opening the Remove Service Connection Wizard, click More.

   

  1.  Click Wizards from the Wizards Toolbar of the Customer Inquiry.

  2.  Click Plus , to expand the Remove portion of the Wizards Control menu.

  3.  Next, click Service Connection.
  Tips:  
  The Remove Service Connection Wizard Window displays.  
  
  To navigate to the step that you want to maintain, click the desired step in the Steps Panel.

• Removing a Service Connection, click More.

   

  IMPORTANT:  To avoid losing data, the wizard automatically validates and saves your data when you click Finish .

  1.  Open the Remove Service Connection Wizard.

  2.  At the Choose Location ID Step, enter the Location ID.
  Tip:  To Search for a Location ID, click Search .

  3.  To advance to the next step, press [ENTER].

  4.  At the Choose Service Connection Step, select the appropriate Service Connection to remove.

  5.  At the Confirm Step, verify the service connection is the correct one to delete.

  6.  To finish entry and save the changes, click Finish , or press [ENTER].

• Editing an existing Service Connection, click More.

   

  Note:  This wizard only removes Service Connections.  To maintain Service Connections, use the  Wizard.
