Patient Entry - Workers' Compensation Window

Use the Patient Entry - Workers' Compensation Window to view and maintain information relating to the patient's workers' compensation claims.

• Opening the Patient Entry - Workers' Compensation Window, click More.

   

  1. Enter the Account Number.

  2. Click Workers' Compensation in the Menu Tree.

  Tip:  For details about loading patients and opening windows, refer to the  Patient Reference Panel topic.

• Entering a patient's workers' compensation information, click More.

   

  Patient Entry - Workers' Compensation Window Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER] . Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed workers' compensation information.
  Partial Disability From	Enter the start date of the patient's partial disability, if applicable. (mm/dd/yyyy)
  Thru	Enter the ending date of the patient's partial disability. (mm/dd/yyyy)
  Total Disability From	Enter the starting date of the patient's total disability, if applicable. (mm/dd/yyyy)
  Thru	Enter the ending date of the patient's total disability, if applicable. (mm/dd/yyyy)
  Consultation Date	Enter the date of the last consultation the patient had with the provider. (mm/dd/yyyy)
  Prior Approval Number	Enter the patient's latest prior authorization number, if applicable. (up to 15 characters) Note:  If a ticket (charge) requires prior authorization and a prior authorization number has not been assigned during Prior Authorization Maintenance, INSight uses the Prior Approval Number as the prior authorization number.
  Military Branch	Enter the patient's branch of military service, if applicable. (up to 10 characters)
  Military Status	Enter the patient's military status, if applicable.   Common Military Status Codes: A - Active D - Discharged R - Retired Blank - Not applicable
  Notes:   The following fields are informational only and can be used for reporting purposes. Because the fields are user-defined, the field names in the software may not match the documentation.  You can globally change the field names by updating INSight's Workers' Compensation Control Record. There are three date fields and eight alpha-numeric fields.
  Date 1 through Date 3	Maintain and view user-defined date information. (mm/dd/yyyy) Example Uses:   The date the patient can return to work. The date the patient should work part time as related to their workers' compensation claim. The date of the initial contact you had with the patient related to their workers' compensation claim.
  Alpha Field 1 through Alpha Field 8	Maintain and view user-defined alpha-numeric information. (up to 24 characters) Example Uses:   The Provider treating the patient for the workers' compensation injury The patient's work status (full-time, part-time, no work) All work restrictions

   

• Editing a patient's workers' compensation information, click More.

   

   CAUTION!  If you forget to click Save, you may lose your changes.

  1. To display the record to be changed, enter the patient Account Number and click Patient Load or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
     Tip:  If you do not know the Patient Account, you can click Search to see a list of patients.
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [r]

  2. To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3. Enter the data changes.

  4. To complete the edit process, click Save or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
