Patient Entry - Recall Logging Window

Use the Patient Entry - Recall Logging Window to view and maintain information about patient recalls.  A recall is a reminder that the patient needs a recall appointment at a time in the future.  Use Recall Logging to maintain recall dates for patients who need to schedule recall visits.  For example, you can enter reminders for annual physicals, quarterly cholesterol blood work, and blood pressure checkups.  You can print the Recall List to see patient recall information.  You can print recall notices using Patient Letter Writer and the Recall List.

Tips:

• The Recall Logging Window has three main areas:

• Inquiry Area - The top area displays the current patient recalls.

• Entry/Edit Area - The middle area is reserved for entering new or editing existing patient recalls.

• Audit Area - The bottom area displays a list of additions, changes, and deletions.

• You can also enter recalls at the Charge Entry - Patient Guarantor Area.

• In Scheduling, you can use recalls to store future appointments that are beyond the last Appointment Book date for the provider.  Then when the format for the provider's Appointment Book is extended, you can turn the recalls into appointments.

• Opening Patient Entry - Recall Logging, click More.

   

  1.  Enter the Account Number.

  2.  Click Recall Logging in the Menu Tree.

  Tip:  For details about loading patients and opening windows, refer to the Patient Reference Panel topic.

• Creating a new patient recall, click More.

   

  Patient Entry - Recall Logging Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Inquiry Area (Top) The Recall Inquiry Area displays a list of recalls for the current patient.  Each row represents a recall and includes the Date of Recall, Time, Type, Provider, and Notes.
  Entry/Edit Area (Middle)
  	To enter a new recall, click New Recall, or press [ENTER] . Tip:  To indicate that you are building a new recall, the message displays above the Entry/Edit area:
  	To delete a recall, click to highlight the recall in the Inquiry Area, and then click Delete Recall, or press [ENTER] . Tip:  For more information, see "Deleting an existing patient recall".
  	To schedule a patient appointment for this recall, click Schedule Appointment, or press [ENTER] .
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save, or press [ENTER] .
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed recalls.
  Date of Recall	Enter the desired date the patient should have a recall appointment. (mm/dd/yyyy)
  Time	Enter the desired recall time, if applicable. (hh:mm:ss)
  Type	Enter the Type of recall, if applicable. (up to 4 characters) Notes: To maintain appointment types, use Appointment Type Maintenance. The appointment type description displays for your reference. To search for an Appointment Type, click Search or press [CTRL + f].
  Provider	Enter the Scheduling Provider Code for the provider seeing the patient for this recall. (up to 4 characters) Notes: The Provider Code defaults to the physician entered for the patient at the Demographics Window Provider & Referral Codes Area. The scheduling provider name displays for your reference. To search for a Scheduling Provider Code, click Search or press [CTRL + f]. To create a new Scheduling Provider Code, click Fast Maintenance or press [CTRL + o].
  Notes	Enter a brief description of the nature of the patient's recall, if applicable. (up to 16 characters) Tip:  Patient recall notes print on the Print Recall List and on Patient Letter Writer notices.
  Audit Area (Bottom) The Recall Audit Area displays a list of recalls that were added, edited, or created for the current patient.  Each row represents maintenance to a recall and includes the Action, Date, Time, Operator Code, Appointment Date, Appointment Time, Provider ID, Type ID, and Note.
  	To toggle between hiding and displaying the Audit Area, click Audit Trail +/-, or press [ENTER] .

   

• Editing an existing patient recall, click More.

   

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed recalls.

  1. To highlight the desired recall, click the appropriate recall displayed in the Inquiry area.  The recall information displays in the Entry/Edit area below the Inquiry area.

  2. To position the pointer to the information that you want to change in the Entry/Edit area, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  2. Enter the data changes.

  3. To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.

   

• Deleting an existing patient recall, click More.

   

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed recalls.

  1.  To highlight the desired recall, click the appropriate recall displayed in the Inquiry area.  The recall information displays in the Entry/Edit area below the Inquiry area.

  2.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change in the Entry/Edit area, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3.  Enter the data changes.

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].
