This is typically caused if you entered an invalid class code and a red check mark displays by Class Code to alert you.

Double check the class code/sub class/weight combination. If all fields have been entered to match a valid class code the class code description should display below the class code fields.

 

Note:  If the same plate number is assigned to 2 registrations that have different class codes, please contact NDS Support for assistance.

 

Occasionally this happens because an old transfer never removed the plate from the vehicle table.

1.  Use the Data Entry Utility Wizard to make the changes.

2.  First, recall the invalid registration and change the plate number to 0 on the invalid registration.

3.  After entering 0, a screen displays all other plate numbers of 0 as seen below.  

4.  Click to select the Plate Not Found option as to not merge the registration with another.

5.  Then, complete the steps of the Wizard to finish the plate number change.

 

 

1.  Occasionally the sticker type assigned on the registration information window is set to the incorrect sticker type (double vs single).  To correct it, simply select the appropriate sticker type from the drop-down list.

2.  If that does not resolve the issue, verify that you are entering valid sticker numbers that are not already assigned to another registration by checking the sticker information that is maintained in the mv_mvstick_number table.

a.  Go to CURL.

b.  From the CURL Motor Vehicle Registration main menu, enter 5 for Inventory.

c.  Enter 31 for Sticker Inventory.

d.  The following sticker information is validated when a sticker number is entered for a registration.

• Regular or Combination (motorcycle)

• Month or Year

• Single or Double

• Is the sticker available?

 

If multiple clerks are printing to the same printer the Motor Vehicle Registration system will prevent clerks from printing registrations while another clerk has a print job in process.  This allows the system to control the assignment of the registration form numbers.  

 

 

1.  Click OK to wait for the printer.

2.  Generally, printing will resume for the other clerks once the first clerk closes their Server Process Status window.  Check to make sure all Server Process Status windows are closed.

3.  If all print jobs appear to be completed and your job still is not printing:

• First, check to see if all clerks have closed their Server Process Status window.

• If this does not allow printing to resume, then you can run the Release Printer Lock routine found on the Utilities Menu to force a printer to release.

 

To process this registration correctly perform the following steps:

1.  Bring up the old vehicle from which you are taking the transfer credits.

2.  Print Screen all of the registration information.

3.  Use the Data Entry Utility wizard and enter ALL of the information back to the original owners information including plate, effective date, expiration date, stickers (if there are any), Reg. form number, excise tax date etc.

4.  Once completed, open the New Registration Wizard or the New Registration - Excise Tax Only Wizard and select the Transfer Yes option.

5.  Finish the wizard steps for entering the new registration.

6.  Once the new registration is completed, use the Data Entry Utility wizard to retrieve the OLD VIN of the OLD vehicle and enter all of the information back to the registration for the new owners.

 

In the New Registration Wizard or Re-Registration Wizard on the Transaction Wizards Control Menu, click Yes for the Select Transfer Choice and then follow the wizard to enter the transfer information.

 

During the Review Cash Receipts Information Step for all wizards you can maintain an information reason code.

 

During the Review Cash Receipts Information Step for all wizards, click to select the Print Cash Receipt box.

 

Use the Reprint Options wizard to reprint a form if it rips while printing, etc.

 

Follow the steps outlined in the Daily Cash Up Procedure.

• If the record is new, you may need to click Refresh  to update the Search List.

• You may have defined Search Conditions that omit the record you are looking for.

 

Because the reports are not always laid out the same way for every line, it may be difficult to convert them to a spreadsheet.  For example, the heading data does not line up with the columns for the data in the report body.

However, you can convert the report to an ASCII data file or a Word Document.  Refer to the advanced functions in the Print View topic.
