Remove Customer Wizard

Use the Remove Customer Wizard to permanently delete customers from Edifice.

 Important:  You can not remove a customer if any of the following conditions exist for the customer:

• if the customer has an outstanding bill in any of the billing files

• if the customer has an outstanding cash transaction in any of the cash files

• if the customer has an outstanding financial balance

• if the customer is an owner of any locations

• Opening the Remove Customer Wizard, click More.

   

  1.  Click Wizards from the Wizards Toolbar of the Customer Inquiry.

  2.  Click Plus , to expand the Remove portion of the Wizards Control menu.

  3.  Next, click Customer.
  Tips:  
  The Remove Customer Wizard Window displays.  
  
  To navigate to the step that you want to maintain, click the desired step in the Steps Panel.

  Tip:  To see general instructions for each panel in the example below, the cursor becomes a hand when you position the cursor over the field or panel.  Click once to display the associated topic.

  

   

• Creating a New Customer, click More.

   

   Note:  This wizard only deletes Customers.  To create Customers, use the Create Customer Wizard.

   

• Editing an Existing Customer, click More.

   

   Note:  This wizard only deletes Customers.  To maintain Customers, use the Edit Customer Information Wizard.

   

• Deleting an Existing Customer, click More.

   

   Important:  For a customer to be eligible to be removed, it must meet the criteria listed above.

  1.  Open the Remove Customer Wizard.  The first step displays in the Data Entry Panel.

  2.  There are two ways to load a customer:

  • If you loaded a customer in the Customer Inquiry that Customer ID displays in the Remove Customer Wizard.

  • Or, if you do not have a customer loaded in the Customer Inquiry, you can enter the Customer ID in the Data Entry Panel.
    Tip:  To Search for a Customer, click Search .

  3.  Click Next  to display the confirmation step.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + n]

  4.  Confirm that you have loaded the correct record.

  5.  To delete the record, click Finish , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
