Patient Wizard - Overview

Use the Patient Wizard to quickly and easily maintain existing patient information, or in some cases to add new patients.  The Wizard guides you through each step of data entry in an organized manner.  It also provides the flexibility to skip around among the steps.  The table below describes each step for the Patient Wizard.

Patient Wizard - Data Entry Areas for Each Step

Choose Patient Area

Enter the Patient Account Number.

Tip:  This step is sometimes handled automatically by the Wizard.

Demographics Area

Enter the patient's name, address, marital status and other demographic information.

Additional Contact Area

Enter patient contact information beyond that available in the Demographics Area.  Additional contact information includes information such as the cell phone number, fax, email, and a contact person.

Additional Information Area

Enter patient information such as employment status, student status, consent code and organ donor code.

Comments Area

Enter miscellaneous comments about the patient.  The comments field titles are user-defined, providing flexibility for your office.

Diagnosis Area

Enter up to three diagnosis codes for the patient.

Workers' Compensation Area

Enter disability and status information for patients with Workers' Compensation claims.

Workers' Comp. - User Defined Area

Maintain fields that you can set up at the Workers' Compensation Control Record.  There are three date fields and eight alphanumeric fields that you can tailor to your practice's needs

Remarks Area

Maintain patient-specific remarks used for billing purposes.

Referral/Physician Area

Maintain the patient's Provider and Referral Codes, if applicable.

Guarantor Area

Maintain information about who is financially responsible for the patient's account.  The guarantor is the person responsible for the patient's account, and may or may not be the patient.  Generally, the guarantor is the holder of the insurance policy and receives the private statements.

Employer Information Area

Maintain employer information for the patient.  This information is needed if the patient has a workers' compensation related illness or injury.

Tip:  The employer's phone number entered here displays as the Work Phone in several locations.

Insurances Area

View the list of up to six assigned insurances for the patient.

Tip:  From here, you can enter insurance information by launching the Patient Insurance Wizard.

Remove/Review Patient Images Area

View or remove images from the patient's record, including scanned medical cards or the patient's photo ID.

Add Patient Images Area

Add images, such as scanned medical cards or the patient's photo ID, to the patient record.
