Patient Entry - Referral Authorization Treatment Dates Area

Use the Referral Authorization Window Treatment Dates Area to maintain the start and end dates for patient treatment.  The table following the window example describes the treatment Dates Area for the Patient Entry - Referral Authorization Window.

Directions:

To display the Referral Authorization Treatment Dates Area, open the Referral Authorization Window.

Tip:  For details about opening windows, refer to the  Patient Reference Panel.

To update the new or changed information, click Save, or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.

CAUTION

To avoid losing data, you must save the new or changed Authorization Number.

Place of Service

Enter a Place of Service ID or enter a Place of Service description, if applicable. (up to 15 characters)

Notes:

  • This field is informational only and is used as a free-type field.

  • To search for a Place of Service ID, click Search or press [CTRL + f].

  • To create a new Place of Service ID, click Fast Maintenance or press [CTRL + o].

Treatment Start Date

Enter the start date of the patient's treatment. (mm/dd/yyyy)

Notes:  

  • Usually Treatment Start Dates are issued by the insurance carrier or the provider.

  • Treatment Start and End Dates affect Scheduling and Charge Entry.  

  • To enter patient charges which are attached to a referral, the charge service date must fall within the Treatment Start and Treatment End Dates.  

  • To enter a patient appointment which is attached to a referral, the appointment date must fall within the Treatment Start and Treatment End Dates.

Treatment End Date

Enter the end date of the patient's treatment. (mm/dd/yyyy)

Notes:  

  • Usually the Treatment End Date is issued by the insurance carrier or the provider.

  • Treatment Start and End Dates affect Scheduling and Charge Entry.  

  • To enter patient charges which are attached to a referral, the charge service date must fall within the Treatment Start and Treatment End Dates.  

  • To enter a patient appointment which is attached to a referral, the appointment date must fall within the Treatment Start and Treatment End Dates.

Type of Service

Enter a Referral Type of Service Code, if desired. (up to 6 characters)

Tip:  This field is informational only and can be used for tracking purposes.

Notes:

  • To search for a Referral Type of Service Code, click Search or press [CTRL + f].

  • To create a new Referral Type of Service Code, click Fast Maintenance or press [CTRL + o].

Lab Indicator

Usually, leave this field blank.  This field is reserved for future use.
